It is part of the Chayka sports complex.<\/p>\n\n<p>The flying club&#8217;s operating season is from April to November. <strong>Parachute jumps<\/strong> &#8211; Static Line with a Ram-Air canopy, tandem jumps with an instructor, jumps of experienced skydivers and training of beginners under the AFF program are held at Chayka Airfield.<\/p>\n\n<p>Also, at the airport there is an <strong>aero club<\/strong>, training flights on airplanes and gliders are conducted. Chayka has premises for model aircraft designers and several cordodromes. They often host competitions in aerial combat, aerobatics and races with high-speed aircraft models. <\/p>\n\n<p>In addition, <strong>air shows<\/strong>, concerts and festivals are regularly held. There is a <strong>hotel<\/strong> on the territory of the sports complex for guests and visitors.\n<\/p>\n\n<p>On April 23, 1934, the Kiev &#8220;Osoaviakhim Aeroclub&#8221; was created at the Chayka Airfield. And in 1941, on the basis of this flying club, a flight school of the Red Army Air Force began to work. In May 1948, the Central Aeroclub of the Voluntary Society for Assisting Army, Air Force and Navy of the USSR resumed its work again, in 1964 it was renamed the Republican Aviation and Sports Club of the Voluntary Society for Assisting Army, Air Force and Navy of the USSR. <\/p>\n\n<p>In the summer of 1976, the <strong>VIII world aerobatics championship<\/strong> was held at the Chayka Airfield. It became the first and only aerobatics world championship held in the USSR. 1984 the flying club was named after the Aircraft Designer and Academician O.K. Antonov. <\/p>\n\n<p>Since the independence of Ukraine, an analogue of Voluntary Society for Assisting Army, Air Force and Navy has become the organization &#8220;Society for the Assistance to the Defense of Ukraine&#8221; (SADU), which was created in 1991. At the same time this Aeroclub was named the Central Aeroclub of the SADU named after O.K.
